Unforgettable Lauren Bacall

Goodbye Betty

Lauren in "To Have And Have Not", 1944

One of my all time favourite femme fatales, actress Lauren "Betty" Bacall has passed away yesterday. She was the last one of the hollywood golden era stars mentioned in the song Vogue by Madonna.
Lauren Bacall (born Betty Joan Perske, september 16, 1924), member of the original Rat Pack, appeared in 30 films, her movie career lasted over six decades and she also found success on Broadway.

Lauren Bacall received an Honorary Academy Award in 2009.

Inspiration, The wonderful Maila Nurmi, a.k.a. Vampira

One of my favourite photos of Maila.
On the set 1954

She had many different looks and she was much more than "just" the raven haired tv show hostess.

Look at that hair! In 1955!

Style Icon, inspiration, Carmen Miranda!

Carmen Miranda, Portuguese-born Brazilian samba singer, Broadway actress and movie star popular in the 1940s and 1950s. She was, by some accounts, the highest-earning woman in the United States and recognized for her signature fruit hat outfit that she wore in the 1943 movie The Gang's All Here.

Here's some of her outfits and hats I really adore!
