Teacher Style ..at last we're back (days 42-44) traveling and teaching

Pardon me for being absent for a while...lots of things going on and off work. But here's few more days of my Teacher Style photo project.
We had halloween theme at school and here's my outfit! Vintage 50's dress and catears and a tail i made myself. (Wonderful 90's film camera vibes in this photo...)

Tired but extremely happy, me and my students organized a fashion show and it was a success!
Wearing vintage and second hand.

I also visited Pietarsaari and the Centria University of Applied SciencesI was invited there to teach the millinery basics to a very cool and motivated group of people. I was very happy to share my knowledge with those young talents.
Hat - Fiona Timantti Millinery
Cardigan - vintage
Scarf and skirt - second hand
Shoes - 90's does early 1900

My friend here might be tiny but make no mistake. He's fierce.

A thousand kisses (from a vampire)

Give me a thousand kisses, then a hundred.
Then, another thousand, and a second hundred.
Then, yet another thousand, and a hundred.
Then, when we have counted up many thousands,
Let us shake the abacus, so that no one may know the number,
And become jealous when they see
How many kisses we have shared.
-Catullus, poem 5

Thanks for this picture goes to Susan, this picture is from her vintage post card collection.

Halloween inspiration 2011

I love halloween. I'm very inspired by old horror movies, vintage halloween pin-ups and vampire stories ( no, i still haven't seen Twilight..). This year i'm olso very inspired by 80s/90s horror movies (and horror comedy, oh my..). I have to watch these movies again.

The Witches of Eastwick (1987) Look at all that hair!

Death Becomes Her (1992)

The Addams Family (1991) Anjelica is marvelous.

There are lots of great halloween inspration movies, these are just the ones that i really want to watch this year.
I have two halloween partie i'm going to, one in Helsinki and one in Tampere. I'm probably gonna go dressed as a vampire. Again. (But this post proves that i'm not always dressed up as a vampire.)

If i have time, i will be making a huge lace headpiece that is a mixture of Lucy's headpiece in Dracula and the spanish mourning veil.
Amazing!

Fashionable, crazy, divine, undead! Halloween party @ YK

A lovely (and crazy!) night out with friends.

Mixture of vintage and second hand. Yes, i dressed up as a vampire, again! And no, i still haven't seen Twilight.

A very good "Sofi Oksanen"

Halloween 2009

Some kind of HulaPirates version of The Munsters or The Addams Family :D

This was DJ Fiona Timantti's halloween outfit this year! Black 50's vintage dress with lovely white lace details. And lots of rosaries. That PVC bow is made by me. Thats , by the way, how my hair looks if i don't curl it. My hair is naturally totally straight.

My top 5 halloween songs this year were:
1. Michael Jackson-Thriller (it's my number one favourite every year, i guess..)
2. Dan Popplewell-Stylish Thriller
3. Pet Shop Boys-Vampires
4. Jill Tracy-Evil Night Together
5. Run-DMC-Ghostbusters

These pictures are of course taken by Atelieri O.Haapala <3

The other side of Fiona Timantti

..is of course my drag character DJ Jalo Kivinen! The name is not funny, if you are not Finnish. Jalokivi=jewl, gem (like a diamond..Timantti=diamond) and Jalo is a finnish, a bit old fashioned name for a man. Jalo also means noble.
Here's dj Jalo Kivinen and his halloween cat at Wäiski, Dr.Sketchy fright night 30.10.2009.

Here's Jalo and Lola Vanilla and the Golden Pussy.

These pictures are from the night Jalo was seen for the first time. It was the Helsinki Burlesquenew comers night 2009. More newComers night pics here!
Dj Miroslove Satan & Dj Jalo Kivinen

Quite charming chap, wouldn't you say?
That tailcoat and the top hat are vintage, and in great shape. I hope Jalo takes good care of them...

P.s. We had a delightful Halloween party on saturday also, but because it was a kinky-halloween party, arranged with the SMRF i don't have any pictures (photographing was forbidden). But luckily Atelier O.Haapala was there! :D So i have one or two pictures of my party outfit taken in their portable atelier!
