New burlesque club in Helsinki: Sally's Chest of Mysteries! The first event was held in Semifinal. And this time we had more men on stage! A fabulous manlesque group HellMonty! We also had the lovely Lucie Goodness, Sandy Jungle, Lamey Crackhouse and Bettie and Sally of course..

One of the movies today was Martin Scorsese's 'The Aviator'. I'm not a huge Leonardo DiCaprio fan, but in this movie he is doing a very good job as the eccenric Howard Hughes.

And what about those shoes, dresses and hats!?

I so wanna have shoes like that! Those colours are crazy!

That blue combined to brown, just perfect. The costume designer for this movie was Sandy Powell. She's made lots of good movies like Gangs of New York, Interview With The Vampire, Orlando, Velvet Goldmine and Far From Heaven. It would be great to work with someone like her...
Gwen is stunning, as always. Though i don't see a remarkable resemblance between her and Jean Harlow...

Cate Blanchett is a marvelous actress and she is the perfect choice for the role of the legendary Katharine Hepburn.

Pulp!

I really like Pulp magazine cover art. Pulp covers, printed in color on higher-quality paper, were famous for their half-dressed damsels in distress, usually awaiting a rescuing hero. Cover art played a major part in the marketing of pulp magazines, and a number of the most successful cover artists became as popular as the authors.

The first "pulp" is considered to beFrank Munsey's revampedArgozy Magazine of 1896.

Although they were cheap, the stories are not all bad. There are many well known authors who wrote for pulps, like Raymond Chandler, Philip K. Dick, Dashiell Hammett and H. P. Lovecraft.

Though pulps fell out of fashion in the late 50's, some independent publishers still publish magazines with short fiction, either short stories or novel-length presentations, in the tradition of the pulp magazines.

The term pulp fiction can also refer to mass market paperbacks since the 1950s.

Actress and writer June Havoc 97, died of natural causes last sunday. The younger sister of the burlesque star Gypsy Lee Rose never reached the fame of her sister, but she had a successful theatre career. She started her career in Vaudeville as Baby June.
