10 Books That Saved Your Life

I was reading this blog and there were these lists of lifesaving books. The idea came from a website tensongsthatsavedyourlife.com- where artists from different fields can list songs that saved their lives.
The idea sounds like fun, so i made a list of books myself. First i thought that it would be hard to list only 10 books, but actually it was hard to deside which books were really lifesavers.
(It would be cool to say that "yeah, a villain shot me but luckily i had Umberto Ecos The Name of the Rose in my pocket that stopped the bullet and saved me.)
So, this is a list of books that saved my life and/or made a huge impact on me.


-Lähdettyäsi (lovepoems from 6th century China) - Translated into Finnish by Pertti Nieminen
-Matkalla niityn yli - Lassi Nummi (My favourite poet)
-The Master and Margarita - Mikhail Bulgakov
-Good Morning, Midnight - Jean Rhys
-Hullunkurinen lintukirja ("the crazy bird book") - Mauri Kunnas
-Naiv.Super - Erlend Loe
-Hanhiemon satuaarre ( a wonderful book of fairytales, lovely illutrations by Feodor Rojankovski)
-Kun Miinus lähti avaraan maailmaan (Minus and the great wide world) - Sven Nordqvist
-The Winter Queen (original titel Azazel) - Boris Akunin
-The Lady of the Camellias - Alexandre Dumas

To that list i could ad all kinds of travel guides, atlas and everything by Agatha Christie (except 'The Big Four').

You can tell what goes on in my head, because the way i look?

I'm sure some of you vintage girls get this too..
I find it rather annoying, that some people look at me and seem to define me merely by the way i look. Yes, i love dresses, i like my hair to be pretty, i like high heels and i write about clothes. But that is not the only thing i write about. I love my cats but my brain is not made of kittens. And it's usually (middle aged)women who think like this.
"She looks like a vintage woman, she must think like a 50's house wife."
Really?

My cats are gonna be on tv (and me too)

 I was happy to be asked to be a part of a new tv series about blogs and bloggers. It's called Blogistania and it will bw out next month!

The camera crew came to my home and to my atelier. It was a bit stressful, since my home is a very private place to me... My cats Bix and Cecil are in almost every frame, i'm sure. My little tv-stars! They were very exited.

This marvelous 30's dress is one of the dresses i found while dumpster diving a while ago. I told you about it in this post, remember? I'll post pictures of other dresses i found later, when i'm wearing them. Ofcourse not all of them were my size, some of them i gave away or sold.
