Cool pics of Helsinki today and how it used to look about 100 years ago

My friend showed me these photos of Helsinki. It's fun (sometimes sad when there has been some beautiful buildings torn down) to see how it used to look where i live. I found two pics from my naigbourhood.

It's fun to look up and pretend that you are walking in a beutiful forest...

...even though you are in the middle of the city.

 I don't think my nails have ever been this long. Yes, they are real, not fake.

I woke up really early today because i really wanted to see the transit of venus , but it was too cloudy in Helsinki. Oh, well. I just have to wait for the next time, which will be in 2117...

This is a notebook i bought today. The cover is a copy of a "real" book. I haven't found that book yet (i did ones but that one was in really bad condition...) but i'll have to. Since the cover is made by my favourite illustrator Poika Vesanto!

 This is something i saw today, something you don't see very often. A new building that i actually like! It's fun to look at! I have to foínd out who's the architect.

When i finally got home (few hours ago) i felt like listening something sad. I wasn't sad, i just had one of those moments when you feel the need to listen to something really sentimental. This record was just what i needed, Frank Sinatra's no one cares. I got it few weeks ago from my dear friend Jacques.

 And i had to go to see a doctor today (just a checkup). If the hospital is as nice as this, i don't mind going there once a year.

Oh, how i miss New York

Ok, here goes. Some of the pics from my NY trip (what, few months ago? Gee, time flies..). Sorry for the horrible collages, there were just too many pictures to upload one by one. And i still don't have photoshop so i had to use just some online collage maker.

I'll post photos of my finds later... It took me a while to discover that "flea market" is not the same thing there and here in Finland. But when i did realise that it was" thrift stores" i needed to find, i did find few pretty good ones! Vintage shops were all pretty expencive, but worth visiting.

The first few nights we were staying in Long Island (with few serial killers on the loose, not kidding!) with our friend PJ. Then we were off to Manhattan.
The parties, shops, people, food, museums...WOW. I gotta go back soon.

We also went to see the Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty exhibition in Metropolitan Museum of Art. It was simlpy amazing. If you have the chance to go, you should!
