'The first black hollywood star', legensary jazz singer Lena Horne died on sunday, at 92. She started out as a chorus girl at the famous Cotton Club in Harlem, but was on her way to Hollywood and Broadway.

She was and always will be one of my favourites. She was an amazing lady, in many ways, and will be missed!
ReplyDeleteI read her biography a couple of years back. Very interesting. She had such humiliating experiences because of racism, but didn't give up.
