R.I.P. Lena Horne

'The first black hollywood star', legensary jazz singer Lena Horne died on sunday, at 92. She started out as a chorus girl at the famous Cotton Club in Harlem, but was on her way to Hollywood and Broadway.

  1. Such a loss. I wish she (and other people i admire) had lived forever.

At least her music will.. =) Thanks for remembering her here.

  2. She was and always will be one of my favourites. She was an amazing lady, in many ways, and will be missed!

  3. I read her biography a couple of years back. Very interesting. She had such humiliating experiences because of racism, but didn't give up.

4.'s pretty hard to understand the racism back then...
