Fantastic photos! 19th Century Vaudeville and Burlesque Performers

These photos are neat. It's funny how different the "ideal woman" back then was. You can't really compere these ladies to the oh so skinny supermodels of today. I do like both, skinny girls and curvy girls. It's just funny..
I'm crazy about some of these costumes!

I need to make a costume like this for myself! Maybe for the next Helsinki Burlesque festival...

  2. I think I'd be scowling too if I was wearing a corset as cinched as Viola's! Do you think they have bare legs or some kind of very early tights garment?

  3. It seems that they might be wearing some kind of tights, in some of the photos anyway. Can't see the back seems...
    Bare legs would have been too bold probably! :D
