“Who can resist these rare glimpses of a world unknown, unheard of, and unimagined?”

A.k.a. something fantastic happening in Helsinki very soon!

"THE CHAMPAGNE CIRCUS" is Helsinki's newest, most decadent club night to date. Situated in the main hall of ‘Vanha Ylioppilastalo’, with a star studded cast of international artistes purveying the finest in modern circus and cabaret - whilst evoking the timeless spirit of the gender bending, erotic badlands of Weimar Berlin and it’s notorious variety shows…
Witness wild, weird, and wonderful feats of human marvel as you are transported into the opulent underworld of “The Champagne Circus”.

Get your tickets now while there are still seats left!

EMPRESS STAH (AUS/UK) – ‘Defying the rules of gravity — without wings or springs!’
An utterly unique — award winning aerial and neo cabaret artist, acclaimed for her groundbreaking combination of technical skill, humour and sultry ambience. Stah’s performances are at times; humorous, blasphemous, pornographic, light hearted, challenging, camp, and politically incorrect — but they are above all entertaining!
Stah has corrupted audiences from London to Tokyo, Moscow & New York and shared the bill with Dita Von Teese and Cirque Du Soleil.

And who is behind all this wonderful madness? Why, non other than the highly talented, utterly beautiful couple Missy Macabre and Baawo Bee a.k.a. The Baron! What a perfect pair...
This must be one of my favourite photos of Missy! By Atelieri O.Haapala, ofcourse. Bondage by the bondage goddess Tinttu!

"An international and revolutionary Circus Sideshow performer, Missy presents a diverse variety of Sideshow and Cabaret disciplines, manifesting them together in a perfect plethora of wit, elegance and danger, inspired by turn of the century carnivals and travelling circuses. "

In my opinion, he's one of the most interesting performers in burlesque/circus skene at the moment. The Baron.
"A grotesque and highly charismatic circus strongman, and weightlifting marvel - The Baron has been shocking and awing international audiences for over ten years. He presents the atmosphere and traditional skills of Victorian sideshow, in an accessible and comical manner."

So, can YOU resist?

Laurie Hagen is a very interesting and unique burlesque performer. I have't seen her performing live, but i would very much like to, after seeing some videos in Diva's blog!
And how cool is this outfit by Rachel Freire?! She has made some seriously stinning outfits, go check out her website!

I'm gonna make more of these hats! I just have to figure out a good name for it.... Any ideas?

Felix the cat and Ann Pennington, The Black bottom dance

January 1927 issue of Photoplay, Ann Pennington teaching Felix do the “Black bottom dance”.

I would love to wear something like that to my dance lessons, but i think it might be "too much". ?
Even though "it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring", like Marilyn said.

Sometimes it's refreshing just to stay home and have few drinks in good company instead of going out. And board games are fun!
